This Privacy Policy describes how Aprender ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Aprender - Learn Portuguese application on iOS or Android ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and the information needed to authenticate you. If you use an available Apple or Google sign-in option, we receive the information that provider makes available for your account.
Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the App, including lessons completed, vocabulary practiced, streaks, XP earned, and CEFR level progress. This data is used to personalise your learning experience.
User content: When you choose to use chat, translation, goal-setting, voice, or pronunciation features, we process the text, audio recording, or other content you provide to deliver that feature. Pronunciation recordings are sent for transcription only when you submit them for grading.
Device, diagnostic, and analytics information: We may collect device identifiers, app version, operating system version, crash diagnostics, and information about how you use the App to ensure compatibility, maintain security, diagnose issues, and improve the experience.
Subscription data: Purchase and subscription status is managed by Apple through the App Store or Google through Google Play, depending on where you purchase. We do not store your payment card information.
Marketing emails: Where you have actively opted in (the checkbox at sign-up, or "Email me news and offers" in the App's settings), we may email you product news, learning tips, and offers for the App. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out at any time in the App's settings. We never sell or share your email address for marketing, and we do not email you marketing without your consent.

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share information with the service providers listed above only as needed to provide, secure, measure, and improve the App.
We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account) or by contacting us. Provider records may remain subject to their own retention requirements and privacy policies.
